Our wooden lures have distinct advantages compared with lures made out of plastic. The wooden core of our jerkbaits consists of layers of fibers; each fiber has a closed air chamber. Over time this feature will have the edge over a plastic lure. We do not say that the plastic bait does not catch fish! The question is: How long will they work? When does the lure become porous and will loose the enclosed air and thereby is loosing the action.
Similarly, what will happen when over time the hook gets used up and needs to be replaced. The smallest change of weight will change the balance of the lure and thereby the movement of the lure!
For many years we tested our wooden jerkbaits on the rocky shoreline of the Swedish coast. Our jerkbaits remained stable and balanced even after continuously hitting the rocks, cast after cast. The wood did not loose its property and replacement hooks did not alter the movement of the lure. Our jerkbaits are able to carry heavy hooks and the impregnation will protect the movement of the bait, even when suffering heavy predator bites.
When we designed our jerkbaits, we considered several factors! In order to be successful, the jerkbait not only has to show up the classic “walk the dog” action, but also the “belly flash” action is very important for the lure to be attractive. By adding the balance weight at right place, we have combined these two actions in our lure.
Based on the hydrodynamic design of our jerkbaits, we can also use this lure when trolling in the sea. We are certain that the advantages of our jerkbait design will make the rediscovered jerkbait angling technique even more popular, and it will produce for the fisherman many fine catches.
We are true to our slogan „Quality in every step“ ! This begins with the selection of our raw materials and continues throughout our production and to our final product test. Each step of the way is carefully defined and controlled by 2 independent testers. This is why we can offer you such a unique product guarantee!
As with many of other lure manufacturers, we initially started to offer products with light balsa wood. But because of the fast disappearing of tropical forests we no longer use this type of wood. Instead we are using by now wood from our European forests or tough abachi wood from the plantations. This can obtain similar properties as wood from tropical forests when we applying especially developed treatment processes.
The steel wire has to be the strongest element of the lure. This is why we are selecting steel wire used in dental medicine. This wire is very strong, tough and does not even oxidize in sea water.
We are using rattles in some of our lures, as this improves the catching ability of the lures. These rattles were specifically selected by our teambased on results from our CNC machine tests. Hard steel balls are hitting against a resonance body made of brass. The resulting frequence willattract predators even out of deep water. The construction of the rattle also aids the balance and the movement of the lure!
Due to environmental considerations we do not use solvents for our impregnation process of the lure or its wooden box. Instead we use natural wax and oils. Even jerkbaits that suffer bite marks from hundreds of pike will not crack or take on water so easy.
We do not use fast tampon printing for our baits ! Each lure is hand painted by way of an airbrush and subsequent manual painting. Consequently we don’t have problems when producing your own individual colour design! Each of our lures, depending on process instructions, will be protected by 3 to 4 layers of lacquer. The lacquer we are using, is environmentally friendly and protects against UV-rays, so that your little pet of a lure will last for many years.
We don’t know mercy when selecting the hooks for our lures. We only use hooks of the highest quality from VMC and Gamakatsu! We produce the split rings ourselves by using string wire of German origin. Our lures only deserve the best!
Beside tank testing in the manufactory we are doing randomized testing under real conditions in the Danube river to assure that the lures moves properly even in adverse conditions. Should you still be unsatisified with the movement of one of our lures, despite our here mentioned thorough final product test, we are prepared to replace your bait without much fuss.
